what we have been doing...

Nothing much nowadays for updating. My camera is failing. The lens is not working well. The clarity is getting poorer. Guess it’s time for a new camera.

As such, the camera has been lying in my wardrobe in low batt mode and that explained the less updates of pictures.

Here is what we have been doing…

Bedtime Reading:

I brought several books for Baby D and read to him as much as possible. He is able to identify the animals on the book. Heehee! My mummy also got him one, hope that he can cultivate the habit of reading and main while stimulating his brain too. Hubby and myself are not good reader so we hope that Baby D don’t take after us.

Another 2 set of Hi-5 added to his collection. He loves the team. * Tim, Nathan, Charlie, Kellie & Sun * He needs to watch them dance & sings everyday. Now hubby dread of Hi-5 vcd in his car. Wohaha!

Hair:

We attempted to trim his hair and for the 3rd time, we failed! He would scream, cry and yell as loud when we entered the hair salon. Even his toys and biscuit could not do magic. The 1st attempt was done at my place – the lady only managed to trim the back of his head. The 2nd attempt was unsuccessful – the aunt didn’t even get to trim his hair and we have to leave immediately. 3rd attempt at my mum’s place, the aunt trimmed the side only. So my mum has to step in now, she hid the scissor and while baby D is playing at her place, she would trim his side fringe w/o he noticing. Bit and pieces here and there, finally its neater!

Poor boy, he has phobia towards the aunties at hair salons… wonder how to trim his hair when it became longer?

Gymboree Lesson:

I registered for Baby D on the trial lesson first to see how good the lessons can be. If he likes the lesson, will consider signing him for the class package.

We are quite looking forward to see him in class.

Straw:

Baby D has learnt to use a straw instead of drinking from his cup. The mag mag has trained him to drink water by straw and he only took a few days to do it. Now he is able to drink from straw and directly from cup.

The first sail:

Wohoo…..can’t wait for the day to come! count down to 23 days!

Ma's Birthday Dinner

we had a reunion dinner (birthday dinner) with my parents in-law, brother in-law family and us at Owens seafood, turf city in celebration of ma's birthday and it happens to be on the actual day.

for the first time ever, we tasted the first alaska flown-in crab that cost a whopping bomb! it's the most expensive crab i have even had in my entirely life. beside this star dish, we also had drunken prawn, scallops, pi-pa duck, steam fish, ee-fu noodles and asparagus. so far, comments on the food are pretty good. it's having promotion of 50% off the total bill for seafood during weekdays (mon-fri). hmm, with this star crab in, he total bill is still "eye-shocking".

and for another first time ever, we brought a very special birthday cake for ma, its not 100% durian cake not the awfully famous chocolate cake and not even big famous 6stars hotel birthday BUT a cake full of love and sincerely. we deigned the birthday on our own. yes, both hubby & myself and of course, we are not that talented to bake the cake, we only played a part in designing the cake. heehee, the below pictures will tell how nice and special the cake is. Ma is quite surprised! told her that this is the world's one and only birthday cake. well, hubby and me are so proud of ourselves with the end result.

the proud birthday cake we have deigned! wohaha!!!!! nice...???? it's even written down the 2 grandson's name...hehe!

baby D of course met his cousin (baby kayden) at the dinner. it has been a big puzzled why baby kayden cried out so hard when he sees baby d...? haha! it's not the first time they are meeting but poor baby kayden cried a couple of times when we placed both babies close together. his loud, poor cries really makes u wonder why...?!

the birthday girl enjoyed the dinner with her 2 precious grandsons. and the dinner a busy one with attention on the 2 little ones.

here, wish her longevity, happiness and good health!

- the 9th year -

21.08.2009 - Today marks the 9th year anniversary of dating for hubby & me. Nothing much special this year as he is not those "romantic" kind of MAN. Anyways, we don't arrange for big celebrations for the past few years. On each year, this special day...i will recall the first dating with hubby @ east coast park under the starry nightsky after dinner and with the first kiss, we became ONE! (heehee, sound mushy...)

We had a mini cake cuting last evening in advance as today is MIL's birthday too.

Berry Bouquet (cake from Icing Room) with semi frozen strawberry for our mini celebration and of course with the accompany of Baby D. He don't love the strawberry though it is frozen cold, just love playing and placing the strawberry near to his cheeks & neck.

Homecooked dinner for us, fruits + desserts + TV programs ended the peaceful 9th anniversary nite. I am enough contented because the greatest joy & happiness is to have baby D with us as an family. Nothing beats any better than that.

Hubby agreed too.

Happy 9th Dating Anniversary! May we have more happy years to come!

all-time favourite

we have made a pact with baby d to bring him to mcdonald for breakfast on sunday morning. if the case that papa needs to work, he will have breakfast at the mcdonald nearby while i go for the weekly marketing at the market. else, if papa is not working, we will racee some other mcdonald like west coast & king albert park for a change.

there are some mcdonalds that have playground facilities and it is deigned with beautiful scenery gardens and fish ponds.

he likes BIG breakfast especially the scramble eggs, can finished all on his own. next comes hotcake, think both are kids all-time favourite. he'll ask for more sometimes!

sometimes, this little baby d gets a balloon from the mcdonald jie-jie.

it's such an enjoyment enjoying a cup of hot coffee in the morning.

virus, please go away far from us!

received a bad call from dad this afternoon and get to know that my brother had a virus attack due to fever and was in the ambulance making the way to sgh. my heart sank to the very bottom. i got changed and hurried in a cab to the hospital.

alot of thoughts came into my mind when i'm on the expressway. it was the longest journey ever. my heart was in an anxiety. it popping twice or thrice times faster than usual. the journey seems longest. how i wish i can take over the wheels and ramp to its highest speed. i kept my praying deep down my heart, a silent prayer!

i called mum while on the way to double check on which hospital they are sending him to. when she picked up my call, all that i heard was a helpless voice of hers and the loud (very thunder loud) siren sound. the siren has been a very bad impact to my mind. i could still hear the hallucination of the siren sound now, esp at the quieter time.

they have to re-route to sgh instead of ttsh due to insufficient bedding at A&E. i hopped off the cab to A&E and mum accompany brother with the doctor. doctor gave medication to subside the fever and took a long big test tube of blood from him for further laboratory testing. he was left resting on the bed and we were asked to come back in 1.5hrs time for the report. that was a terrible wait. the aunties came too, worried for him and the presence of the aunties really comforts us, esp mum. at least, the moral gets boasted up. went for a drink while waiting. well, the mask get wet through by my perspiration.

has some light dinner at the foodcourt. it was a quite dinner. were analyzing why the virus came so sudden and immediately conqueror his body. finally after the pacing up and down to and fro, the test report is out. nothing terrible serious (not N1H1), just a kind of virus (forgotten its monster name) gets into the body due to the fever and the body was not able to withstand the defence so it developed into cramp. was not hospitalized, given MC for the next few days with medication. doctor mentioned that it will still be feverish for the next 2 days before it subside. shoot away the virus and off you go...please stay away from us!

phew! thanks for the praying deep down my heart. it's going to be some offering tomorrow morning to thanks everything in fine place.

speedy recovery, bro!

we  you!

Great gathering, Great food

again, we had a great gathering at grandma's place today. the potluck session that everyone shared, the get-together session, the MJ session (as usual), the appearance of vivien who came back for vacation from Texas and some of the cousins (yuzhen, alvin) who seldom came.

potluck dinner started as early as 6.15pm, we watched the live telecast of national day parade together, the kiddos played with their hamsters, the house is filled with joy and laughter from the adults and children + my baby D.

hmm, perhaps that the cousins seldom see one another as offen as we were young, we somehow lost the "common topic" that we used to chat and talk about. it has became abit "strange" to see one another. we have lost the touch. i could till remembered how much we used to play together and stayed with one another during school holidays...

nevertheless, the younger generation now gets to play, study and stay together much offen now. they are much bonded, perhaps of their close age.

i still hope that we can stay close as one BIG family and i had fun together again.

the busy kitchen.
