30 Months: My Little One

My toddler is 30 months now.

He is a smart little boy where he knows the demand technique now.

He can speak very well and know his expression too.

When he needs your love, he’ll come dearly for you.

With him around, life is priceless filled with smiles and loves that you never find it elsewhere.

Sometimes, I just can't find a reason not to pamper him.

Bonding with my Boy

Darrell and myself spent 10 quality days with each other. Yes, just the both of u at home in the day time.

He became so 'glued' to me and I truely feel the sweetness of motherhood.

The bonding lie between mother and son is priceless and no else where to be found.

With him by my side, it's worth it!

Baby, mommy & daddy loves u!

1st Homework...

Darrell 1st homework, brought home yesterday.

I was surprise as I didn't know there are homework to be completed by playgroup toddlers.

A total of 3 pages, submission on Monday.

However, this little one just cannot sit still on the desk and complete his work. After 1 min of colouring, he gets up and move around the house, abandoned his work on the desk.

It will be a challenge to train him sit on the desk and do his homework.

Our Last Class - GUG

Today is the last lesson/term for our Parents & Tots class @ Growing Up gifted.

It’s a day with mixed feeling. First, we would not be meeting the Teachers and classmates anymore. Secondly, Darrell would be ‘upgraded’ to an higher education level.

We brought some little gifts for the classmates and teachers.

It’s has really been a good 8 months to be in this class with Teacher Russell (English) and Teacher Li (Mandarin).

We have been attending class diligently except for 2 occasions that we went on a holiday.

Rain or shin, we are always on time for class to commence each Sunday. (though there is a time where I wasn't’t feeling good but then I still tolerate through the entire lesson).

Teacher Russell is a good educator. I am glad to have her in the class for all the terms we went through.

She doesn’t teach for the sake of teaching. In face, she loves the children regardless they are the more ‘active’ ones. She believes in talking to them and making them believe in her.

She is always full of patient to educate and talk to them.

She is simply too into her passion for teaching and coaching.

I will give her 9/10 as a teacher or an educator.

And she gave us very good advice when I seek her for information on Darrell’s education milestone.

Teacher Li is good too, trying her means to blend into the children’s world.  But then, she needs more patient and improvement to go.

We look forward to attending class at GUG again when the new term starts.

Here, we made some DIY memorable gifts for the teachers and cookies lolli-pok for the little ones.

We even took some photos with the teachers and of course, Darrell’s best pal at class, Yihao.

It’s has been a great morning of gift exchanging and bidding goodbye and hugs….

Thanks Haohao for the lovely present, Darrell loves it very much!

Progress @ Edufarm

Today is the 6th day of Playgroup @ Edufarm. So far, Darrell is doing fine except that some of the little toddlers are still in the 'crying stage' where the door close and parents / caregivers have to leave.

My maid will encourage him to start off the class and promise to wait for him outside with Mcdonald which she did for the last few days. Today, she sneaked up for some house chore before going down to peek on him.

He gets extremely excited when class ended... when the door opens again, he will come out in a high mood and showed her the art & craft he has done. Before he does so, he will shouted : "jie-jie, see see the tiger...? (his drawing & colouring)...

He learns and sings in partial sentences now... so cute & lovely to see he sing alone while playing on his own. I am glad that at least for the 2 hours in the playgroup, he gets to interact and learn some social skill.

It's another joy to see him dressed up in his red uniform and carrying his 'pooh' bag, ready for class each morning. My boy has really grown up to another phase of stage.

Recently, I even heard him singing rhythm that Teacher Russell taught him at every Sunday class... he sings on his own... and that really 'wow' me...

Baby, mummy & papa are so proud of you.

Keep it up, my dear!

Darrell 1st Day @ Edufarm

Today is the 1st day of Darrell’s playgroup at Edufarm. Hm, I would say he has done a good job though initially he was quite ‘sticky’ to me.

There are 9 small children in the same with Teacher Ann and one assistant. 3 of them were newly joined and the rest were the ‘kor-kors’.

I accompanied him into the class for the 1st hour and after which, I sneaked out of the door when everyone is preparing for some colouring.

While waiting for him outside the door, whenever there are cries coming out of the classroom, I would paranoid and wondered if it is my boy who is crying for me. But surprisingly, he didn’t even noticed my absence though. After the class, Teacher Ann feedback that he even comfort his fellow friend who is crying.

This playgroup is indeed a simple and causal one as comparing to the enrichment class we attended at GUG. Obviously the classroom ambiance varies a lot. The type of material used and the quality of the teaching differs too. Now, I finally know the value of money for these classes.

It is a 2-hours playgroup which these little ones get together and interact.

Here is a rough itinerary for the playgroup:

-          warm up, playing with toys

-          singing and phonics

-          colouring, art & craft

-          water break

-          washing up and packing of bag

-          lined up to pick up their shoes and bag

-          end of class

Hopefully, Darrell can learn to be more independent in class where we can leave him without our companion.

With such, he would be able to move on to a higher level of learning, at both Edufarm & GUG.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father’s Day to our Daddies...

A Simply affair of steamboat dinner at Sembawang Road.

The restaurant is exceptionally crowded with families having dinner with their daddies on this special occasion.

Truely enjoyed the dinner with our daddies.

Papa, we    you.

Thank you for bringing us the best things we can ever ask for, a happy family and a good father to us.
