Sandcastle by the beach

it's a lovely breezy Saturday with sandcastle and cycling at the beach though my hubby isn't feeling too well but that doesn't stop us from the beach activities upon arriving. i love the family day and we are going back again.

we started off with cycling along the long stretch of bicycle track. oh, it has been ages since i last cycled on a bicycle. i remembered ecp is once our favourite haunt with my friends on a weekends where we do swimming, picnic/bbq and chalet. now, i am spending my previous weekends with my ah lau and my little one.

the little one enjoys being cycled around with the breeze on his face at the cycling speed. he loves tinkle on the bicycle bell and each time when there is an obstacle in front of us, he will ring the bell... super cute. well, the bells goes on and on while we cycle.

we stopped by at the sandcastle beach and start building our sandcastle on the beach. hmm, building sandcastle isn't as easy as what i thought, it requires a lot of effort and creativity and of course, we didn't not make it to a successful task.

scooping the sands, ferrying water from the beach and messing our foot with the sand... it's a great day to be spent though my bum hurts!

The Short Getaway

It’s a short getaway for us.

Yes, we drove up to Melacca with little Darrell and Jaron & family. We have planned this trip 2 weeks before thinking that the little boys can travel and have fun together.

Since, it is their first trip out of Singapore and indeed they had fun all over.

Genting was a last minute decision to visit. since all of us applied for leave the following day.

It was a 3 days fun-filled family outing together. Since we are traveling with 2 little kids, we decided to drive up instead of taking a coach.

We stopover as and when we like for light snack (mostly fast food) and toilet breaks.

After 3 hours of traveling on the ‘endless’ highway, we reached 1st destination, Melacca. We checked into Equatorial Hotel and due to the high occupancy on the day, the rooms are not ready for check-in. We left our baggage with the concierge and headed for lunch plus a short shopping at the shopping mall located beside our hotel.

The well known-famous local peranankan food is what we have been looking forward to have upon arriving in Melacca. Sadly to say, the first restaurant’s food wasn’t authentic and seafood served wasn’t fresh. That determines me to find that better-famous restaurant which I went before a year ago.

Finally, we found it. Hippi!

We settled in for dinner for peranankan food and all of us commented that the food was real authentic and yummy-licious. Too bad Chef Kenny wasnt around to recommend us more of his home-made dishes.

I specially love the ice lemon honey drink, very refreshing and cooling. We had chendol for dessert; all of us fall in love with it too. The black sugar is heavenly.

Haha, we went for night body massage after tucking the boys to bed.

It’s has been ages since I indulge into a full body massage.

Very relaxing and my whole body feel so good & light after massaging.

The little boys of course, had fun at the poolside. The tapping and splashing of the cool water with that ‘car float’ made their day after traveling for so long on the road. They were reluctance to get out of the pool and were ‘force’ to drag them out.

Though it only for 2 nights stay there but both families really had fun spending quality time together.

- Genting Highland -

It’s a hectic way up to Genting. The slopes are terrible. I almost puke in the car! The boys face turned pale and Jaron vomited too in daddy's car. Think daddy Elgin drove too fast like Jay (in Initial D show)!

Surprising, the weather is not as cooling as before. I don’t even need a sweater for myself not mentioned hubby. The kids went wild upon seeing the indoor rides and we brought ourselves the day-entry pass for the rides. We seat on choo-choo train, floating boats and ferris wheel. The kids had too much fun on the rides that they went cranky in their sleep… heehee!

Spend a night stay at First World Hotel, phew! We could not get any available rooms at Resort Hotel. So down with no choice, we settled for First World Hotel.

Requested for connecting rooms and indeed, the boys run around in the room and kept themselves occupied all day long.

The Casino - that goes without saying, the men went in for leisure while we mummies spent the night replenishing our beauty sleep in the hotel room.

No luck for hubby. Lost on his bets!

But daddy Elgin managed to win back a few hundred back. Well-done!

Tim sum breakfast before our packing and returning. Yeah, we even sat on the cable cars to enjoy the scenery of the highland. Quite exciting feel on the cables.

The well-spent 3 days 2 nights in Malaysia flew passed in a flash and we checked out the rooms and get 'rolling down' from the slopes back home.

The mummies

Halfway, we stopped over for A&W - waffles with ice cream topping, curly fries and the well-known root beer float. Wow, that really cease off our tiredness that the long long journey brings us.

Came down to JB, we went for famous Abalone Noodles with oyster and clam before exiting the custom.

Time to say goodbye and see you next time.

The kids bid farewell and finally we are back home.

It’s so nice returning home on my comfortable bed.

I would say, it is a memorable trip for ourselves and though the kids would not remembered it as clearly but I think they still had lots of fun and enjoyed themselves in this short getaway.

We look forward for more trips coming up.
