Opps...!

Today visit to Dr Woody in the morning for review, my nice brother came and fetched to the clinic at 10.30am. There's quite a number of mummies awaiting for Dr Woody, while sitting down there waiting for my turn to be called - I had this deep deep thought on my mind....

.................Back few months back, I was found pregnant and hubby accompany me to Dr Woody's clinic, after months of visiting him in his "tiny" clinic, finally I'm back to him for my review on the stitches. How time flies! I will always remembered the time sitting down there waiting to see Dr Woody and my little one thru' his scan machine and anxiously to know how much weight the little one has put on every fortnightly check-up.

* Not forgetting the "black & white" photo of baby darrell on each visit.

Dr Woody inspected my wound....Hmmm (with his "wordless" expression) he told me that there's a slight infection on my wound. I was given antibiotics and cream to apply after washing. He wants me to bathe myself..??!! In order to keep the wound clean. I need to return to him on Friday for 2nd review.

I missed the birth process...though contraction is killing....I miss the moment when Baby Darrell was being "pulled" out of my tummy Dr Woody. I miss the moment when I was need to be C-section and the nurses preparing me for the operating..haha!!!!

Sim Look-alike Meter

MyHeritage: Family tree - Genealogy - Celebrity - Collage - Morph

Officially Named

I chose his English name, hubby chose his Chinese name. Our little darling is now named:

  Darrell Sim Le Ming

We went to ICA to register for his birth cert yesterday as well as to take a breather out from the house, haha (hubby secretly brought me to Giant @ Turf City to get some grocery). Confinement sucks!!! How I wish it will end right away now! Confinement is making me going depression!!!!! (i meant it!)

Today, makes the 11st day of confinement. I took my very first shower . It was refreshing & shook is the only word to describe. Dad & Mummy drove to Dr Woody's clinic for review but he was out for an operation at the hospital so I have to re-schedule the review appointment to next tuesday.

With this the 11st day of confinement, I took chicken and egg for my lunch & dinner! (MIL says to avoid chicken & egg after operating!) But appetite wasn't as good as before. I basically took 45mins to finish each meal. Eating no longer "appealing" to me unlike as before. *  imagine I have to eat double portion in the past - my office colleagues will know this well.

My baby D is getting more and more cranky at night . He makes the whole family wake up and does not go to bed after his feed. OMIGOD!!!!!! He wants us to carry him and "pat pat" him to sleep. MIL have to do that last nite for 1hr before making him to bed. Baby D sleeps very well in the day time. Interval feeding time lasted 4 hrs the maximum. I hope it could be the other way round...hehe!!!!!

I'm looking desperately for 16 May..........................................

These are the hampers I received. Thanks pal!!!!

Now that little darling has arrived with us, I would like to thanks my friends, colleagues, families members and my BIG darling hubby for all that you have done for me. Thanks for all the tolerance and the giving in to me.

There are certain people that I would like to specially thanks them:

1. Michelle (babyshell) - she has been with me all these while from the very start to where little darling arrived. she has been with me on all the shoppings for (myself) to (little darling). she has been eating with me since the announcement of my pregnancy. sorrie lah, if I have caused you to put on weight, haha!!!!!

5. Dr Adrian B Woodworth - my gynae. He is a man of "less than 10 sentences" each time I visited him clinic. He is a cool man. A man who is excellence in his "art & craft" (stitching, haha).....The assurance he gave to me & hubby before for the operating was comforting that I left like lying egg for that moment in the operating room! I will always remember it.

6. My BIG Darling hubby - Thanks for all that tolerate on me. Thanks for taking good care of me during these 9 months of precious pregnancy. Thanks for everything....not forgetting getting me durian, birdnest etc...hahaha!!!! And all the rides to work and off work. Baby SIM is 1 week old.....

Baby SIM is turning one week old today. His chinese name will be collected tomorrow by hubby from the geomancer. I wondered how would the names goes...? Praying hard that there's no funny and weird names.

Well, my very 1st week of confinement has passed....I am miserable.....!!!!!! Main Reason being: I CANNOT BATH & WASH MY HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!! I kept complaining to mummy.....she can only say :" hai ya, few more days, please tolerate...if not next time when u old liao, u got backache, this and that...don't come and complaint lor!" Hearing that...i "ren" and "ren" and "ren". Both mummies agreed to let me take my first shower on Saturday before appointment (review) with dr woody (well, i scare he fainted when he comes near me)!. Mummy will be bringing over and brewing the herbs for me to shower and wash my stinky head. I am so looking forward to Saturday!

Confinement sucks! I cannot eat this and cannot do that. The stupid weather is so warm. I perspired all the times making me so stinky! I think baby SIM also find his mummy so smelly lor. This morning hubby, MIL and my brother in-law had roti prata with coffee whereas me had oat cereal with milo. But I did broke a small "rule" this afternoon. I turned the fan to my direction but but but... I was 2 metres away from the fan, haha!!!! Now the fan is rotating while I am updating this entry.

Initially, we wanted to book a chalet to celebrate little darling's full month on 17 May but turned out ALL chalets are fully booked, guess I am too late for that. After discussing with the families, we have decided to do it at my place...?! No choice lor. It will be very cramp, so hubby suggested that we spilt friends and relatives into 2 groups.

Here is the latest update pic:

I want to eat noodles, fried rice, KFC, Mcdonald, Roti Prata and more.....drink Coke, Mos Burger Ice Lemon Tea / Milk Tea....HK Tea....

This is what I had for confinement meals:

Morning: Oat Cereal w Milo / Milo w biscuit

Afternoon: Rice, "Black Sauce Pork", Veggie & Fish (always a fish and i need to finish it up)

Dinner: Rice, Pork, Veggie, Soup and FISH again!

Bye Bye confinement in 3 weeks time!!!! Horooooy!!!!!!!!

Bye Bye Jaundice

We went to Dr Ang for review this morning. The first sight Dr Ang saw baby SIM (cos he has no name yet, so nurses address him as baby SIM), he said that jaundice should went down liao...There isn't anymore yellow spot around his face, which means baby SIM don't need to be box-ed up again...!!! Haha, he must be very happy lor, cos he don't like been box-ed up...

Still need to bring him down to sun-tan for the next few days.

He gained weight over the past 2 days, the nurse said that it is a good sign. He poo poo 3 times yesterday, and wee - treating hid daddy a cup of hot tea early in the morning when daddy wants to change his diaper. Daddy nearly fainted!!! hahaha

Sleeping soundly...see the little fngers...like in a deep thought lor....

I love his little fingers..... *yawn yawn*

It is "pom pom" (bathing) time!

He loves bathing and enjoying the water in the tub...

I want to shower!!!!!!!! I want to wash my hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I smell like....??!!!! (Dustbin)!

Both mums say i am able to shower on coming Sunday with herb, very looking forward to the day i can SHOWER!!!!!!

By the way, I also want to drink....................not that longan red date drink, not milo......but ice chilled COKE!!!!!!!!!! I am craving and dying for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jaundice Baby

My poor darling is down with jaundice, from discharge (9.9) to yesterday (14), omigod......We brought him back to Thomson Medical back to Dr Ang P.L, haha... He was my Pediatrician when I was young and down with asthma, now my little darling is seeing him as well. He is a good pediatrician and he is very popular @ Thomson.

He suggested that we either leave little darling there for 2 days for sun-tanning or to rent the machine home. After considering with hubby, we have decided to rent the machine home. Reason being, I could not bear to leave little darling there for 2 days. I am so attached with him now, same goes to hubby. When he comes home half day today, he immediately went to see little darling sleeping.

But little darling don't want to sleep in the machine, he cry extremely loudly when we place him in. So we have no choice but to pat him to sleep on bed then slowly gently move him to the machine.

* The Arrival *

The arrival of my little darling is here!!!!!

On 16 April 2008, 8.03pm - he arrived to this beautiful world by Dr Adrian B. Woodworth at Thomson Medical Centre. Weighting 3090g and 47cm.

We love him, everyone loves him!!! He is our darling precious!!!!!

Here is my birth story:

[16 April 2008]

7.15am - was getting ready for shower for my last day of work before I start my maternity leave. spotted red in the toilet.........told hubby about it and we got ourselves prepared for admission. Me showered and did some simply housework after which called Dr Woody to seek for his advice. He wanted me to go straight to TMC and meet him there. Hubby & I set off from our place at 8.30am, we headed to Mcdondald @ Kallang for breakfast before admitting myself.

10.00am - got admitted and changed to the hospital gown, nurses weighted me, cleared my "shitty" haha!!! And Dr Woody came by, he checked my cervix, it was 1cm open, bursted my water bag and told me that I should be able to see my little darling by 4-5pm...was on drip and waited anxiously with hubby in Birth Room Number 5. Watched TV and fall asleep now and then.

1.30pm - contraction came very hurting...I already tried to bear with the "unbearable" pain for 1 hour, after using the "laughing gas"  (which was useless), I seek for..... "Happy-dural".... It was really god - sent medicine. I fall asleep after the injection with NO PAIN of contraction at all.

4.00pm - nurses came and check on my cervix, it was then 4cm open only...which isn't a good sign. Dr Woody was informed on it. He came in too, asked me to wait for another 2 hrs and we see how things shall go....wait and wait and wait, it was my longest wait in my life....!

7.30pm - Dr Woody came in again in his polo-shirt and bermuda, haha I nearly cannot recognise him. He said.....it is no good for both mummy and baby since the cervix has not open till 10cm, baby heartbeat began to drop, his head is stuck in my birth canal. He suggested....... C-Section then! We all agreed and hubby signed all the related documents, we are ready for c-section anytime.

7.45pm - was wheeled in the operating room and ready for operation. I was given a lot of injection and one of it hurts!! That's was the most painful injection in my life (worst than epidural). Dr Woody came and hubby came in as well. He sat down, started his "art & craft"..shortly, I heard baby's crying........!! My darling is out!!!! Dr Woody quickly asked hubby to take pictures and video, hubby was like too anxious..and became octopus......our very first snapshot with little darling was taken.

@ 8.03pm, the arrival of him..................

9.00pm - Stitches was finished, I was wheeled to my room 324, both parents were here as early as 4pm, they saw little darling over the window of nursery room, they came to see me but i was too tired and fall asleep soon they came in.

While waiting in delivery room.

Our first family pic in the operating room

My little darling...

After the cleaning up

On the first day when I really have a good look at him

Sleepin' soundly

Many thanks to those who came and visited me, those who didn't come and send their hampers to me.....

I am so hungry, finished up every bit...

Smile....!

I wanted to thanks those who came and visited me, there are tons of you guys..and I am very appreciative for you presence. Those who sent their best wishes via sms to me..I am very thankful to you guys too. Last, those who sent their hampers in to me, I am very grateful to you. Your hampers and flowers definitely brighten up my mood and my room. ~ Thanks!!!

Thanks to hubby!! He was always there for me during my 3 days stay. He took very well of my needs and was always there in my room to accompany me even though he was yawning and yawning. He is always the first one to come and the very last one to last my room. I love u, darling!!!

I got discharge on 19 April, after 3 days in the hospital. My wound still hurts till now. Dr Woody wants me to try walking to the rest room on my 2nd day as it will helps to heal faster. But only moderate walking, too much walking will hurt on the wound. My next check up with him on coming Saturday to let him "inspect" on the stitches.

Life at home was not EASY at all....we were soooo busy with the little one....my MIL, hubby and myself...we were so busy and we all hope that how nice if we were to have another pair of hands. MIL was always busy with cooking for my confinement meal, hubby was like on "standby mode" running in and out of kitchen and my room when we all need him. I was always attending to the little one, with feedings. We take turns to look after him. It was so tiring last nite when I tried to feed him and change his diaper twice in the night. I have never felt so tired mid in the night BUT it was so proud after which......I managed to change him and feed him, making him to bed........Now that, he is here with us, he is our everything!!!!!!

Baby, we love u!!!!!!!!!

Long Long Weekends....

It was a long long weekends for me..I took 2 days leave on Thursday & Friday, followed by Saturday & Sunday. It was indeed a good rest @ home.

Thursday & Friday was home-alone, enjoying the peacefulness at home..taking up a well-good rest before the little one arrives. Dinner with hubby's family & uncles at Little India, hmm... sudden craving for Rochor Soya Bean with "you tiao". Headed there and suppose to "ta bao" back home whiling watching TV, end up hubby drove me to "Pebble Bay" and we had our dessert there.... Well, Pebble Bay is one of our fav spot during our courtship.

Saturday went Bugis Temple, followed by lunch with hubby & MIL. Surprised!! We saw Alwin & Nise outside the temple just when we were about to leave. Waffer Ice cream date was made at suntec 2 hours later for catch up. Sent MIL for her mahjong session before we headed to Suntec, "slow" window shopping (as I could not walk as full and energetic as before), settled at Gelate Ice Cream while waiting for the 2 to come. Carrefour grocery shopping was next followed by dinner.....guess what we had......??!!!!!!

My fav. - Teppanyaki Dinner @ Jurong Bird Park - HIlltop.

Drove there for dinner at 7pm, hubby & I had [tiger prawn, teriyaki chicken, deer meat & asparagus], alwin & nise had [scallop, teriyaki chicken & dear meat]. 4 of us enjoyed the dinner very much. It's the best teppanyaki and I would always recommend this place to my friends and surprisingly, my bosses like it too......alwin & nise love it too.

From Left to Right on the dishplate:

Tiger Prawn - Asparagus - Dear Meet - (last piece) of Teriyaki Chicken.

We also had my fav. - Garlic Rice

The End....Saw that additional chopstick on the bean sprout??!!!! It was my dear lao gong "helping" me up with it as I HATE BEAN SPROUT!!!!!!!!!!!

The Chef of the night!

The guys after dinner....dessert time!

The ladies..

Headed home after dinner at 10pm, had a fulfilling dinner.

Milk & apple for me when I got home. I am soooooo tired after the whole day out.

Still no "action" from the little one...??

Still no action?

Visit to Dr Woody on Monday, little bao bao doing fine. Dr wanted me to monitor his movement with at least 10 kicks per day. Yes, he did..but sometimes in the morning, he tends to laze in my tummy without any movement.

Until I have to tell him :" Baby, please kick kick mummy! "

Little bao bao is weighting 2.8kg after the scan by Dr Woody, there's a 200g drop from previous weighting. Didn't know how come there's a decrease in the weight but seen from the forum that it's quite normal for baby weight to drop during the last stage and Dr Woody did not make any remarks on that so I assume it is normal.

Dr Woody also mentioned that if by 18 April, there is no "action" from little bao bao, I have to be admitted to the hospital for induction. Hmm........

Numbness attacked me! Both of hands felt that numbness feeling, esp in the morning. I cannot hold a bowl of rice with my left hand while eating for more than 5mins. I ever told this problem to Dr Woody, he gave me some Vit C pills for relieve.

Millie, babyshell and choo choo msg me, I didn't reply them immediately upon receiving the msg..and the next msg that comes in is...

" Hey, u gave birth liao huh..? What ward/room number? " haha!!!!!!!!!!

Guess they are more anxious than me.... Mummy too...when I called home like after dinner..? she will ask : "u in hospital liao izzit?"

John Little Sales @ Expo..

I should be resting at home and getting ready for delivery instead I went John Little Sales @ Expo after work with Eric & Andree....?!!! haha.....!!!! I brought some baby toys for little bao bao, belt for hubby, Jayden's 1st year old present and a wallet for dad. Total spending of $150 . Well, there isn't much attractive shopping @ John Little but there are still some good "lobang" around - clearing of stock on most baby products. This time round, majority shopping for baby's stuff....I think that "mummy" culture is coming in, in me.

This is one of the item I brought, battery operated, comes with soft baby music and colourful lightings.

I also brought this photo frame, the mimi baby fan and a little toy for the little one. The yellow photo frame is one of the free gift when I purchase my maternity clothings from OIO.

* After i brought the photo frame, babyshell called me and informed that they had gotten one similar one for me too....haha such a coincident!

Hubby & me also touched up the store room and the little room for my MIL. He cleared all his "rubbish" in the store while me clear up the room, making sure that it's comfortable for my MIL to sleep in during my confinement. Now the store looks cleaner and spacious.

I have got a new cleaning auntie at home. So far so good..... first trial today...

Hot! Hot! and Hot!

I am sweating and sweating all day long regardless of whether I'm at home or in office, though it rains most of the week but I'm still feeling very warm and perspired all the time. Judy told me that it's the double temperature in my body - the little one and myself and this is where why I'm ALWAYS hot!

Shower and shower, do you know how many times I had to shower in one single day at home (not going anywhere, except downstair to get my meals)??? Not 3 times, not 4 times BUT 5 times before I went to bed in the night time. I don't wear long sleeve blouse nor long pants at home!!! What i wore at home is pyjamas and how hot can I be?????

Aircon has been my best pal at night, even though sometimes hubby cannot stand the "coolness" but he has to accommodate my request of turning on the aircon since 9am till like 3-4am. There is once where he has night guard duty, I on the aircon till 6.30am when I woke up for work. My best record is to on both the fan and aircon...wow * shiok, as if I am living in North Alantic!!!!!!!!

Oh no..!!!!!! When i thought of confinement coming soon...I'm going to miss the cooling water!!!!!! I cannot bathe (as per normal) for at least 2 weeks!!! I cannot get near to the fan!!!!! BUT I insisted I WANT MY AIRCON!!!!! If not, i will faint due to hotness!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will still be that "obedient" mummy during confinement when MIL is here because I don't want to get any backache or joint pain when I get older. During pregnancy, I already experienced that backache during the last stage and I don't want it to happen on me again...!! It's irritating.

Coming mid of the year, the weather should be getting hotter and hotter. I do hope that it rains at least twice a week to cool my temperature down and I am hoping for some wind as well. Luckily, my place here is quite cooling when it rains because I am living next to the hill...haha....

See this beautiful view:

I predicted that for the next 2 months, my PUB bill will go up by double or in fact three times more than what I am paying now. Electricity will go up due to aircon and water will go up due to laundry washing & cooking. I am all mentally & financially prepared!

Mood: Relieved @ Office

Yesterday, finally and eventually I have handed over all my projects and those pending stuffs on hand over to Karen (she'll be covering for me during my absence). Which means in short, I can leave and go peacefully anytime..!!! Haha, I mean leaving for my maternity leave.

Now that I have totally hands off (expect for my bosses's stuff) from my usual workload. I only checked my email, diverted/re-forward out those emails, do a bit of filing (which I did with Andree), it was fun!!! Doing filing with her is filled with so much fun, never did I expected. Haha, there's much laughter than filing until..... my Executive Director came out of his office and was surprised that we were laughing so loudly & happily while doing FILING!

The filing that we have piled up is as high as Bukit Timah hill lor. We have not been doing the filing for months, I think.... With the 2 best buddies' collaboration, we managed to finish the filing before lunch time. My desk is so much neater and cleaner (I'm very happy):

* In-trays are cleared.

* Drawers are cleared, left only some stationery & my drinking cups/Tupperware.

* My magazine holder (usually full with pending files) are NOW cleared.

* Personal & expensive stationery are cleared, brought all home together with my "wu ling mi ji" - note book.

As if it's my LAST DAY @ work liao.

This is before I cleared my desk....very messy hor....imagine now, it is all neat, tidy and CLEAN.

So me brought these fews for a try out!

Tuesday, 1 April 2008

Almost up.

I think we are almost done with the rooms... We shifted all our clothing to the study room (for the time being) as my MIL will be coming over for my 1month confinement.

Yesterday we went Jurong East to get her Sea Horse mattress (with bedsheet & comforter), followed by Jurong West (one of the furniture shop) to get Chest Drawer (heh, we brought 2 at one go). One to be placed in this room, the other will be delivered to my MIL's place for her to put baby's stuff.

All geared up..... i love this rack! It's much neater than before.

Here comes the "untidy" study room.

With the preparation for little bao bao's arrival, my & hubby realized one thing with our flat......It is simply too small - 92sq ft !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We always end up with headache on where & what to shift between the rooms. So we came to a conclusion -  We decided NOT to have so many stuff in the house.

The next area to venture into is the store room......here i come!

Last Monday's visit to Dr Woody was ..Hmm.....the normal check up. Little Bao Bao gained weight again...this time round he is weighing at 3001g..(nice number right) and 34cm......in my 37th weeks. Dr Woody did not mentioned that he wants me to be induced. Perhaps, he wanted little bao bao to stay full term in my tummy. Next visit will be coming Monday. I told Dr Woody that i should be able to go thru' another 1 week or so, he says that :"let little baby makes the decision" ~ hahaha!!!

By the way, i met up with Fan outside the clinic, she's doing her check up as well. Saw her baby C, omigod....she's so adorable. She kept smiling to hubby (from the time we saw her till we depart)......when she smiles, she is so "gal gal".....with that little pink hair pin on her hair.....I wanted so much to give her a big KISS...

to update: my foot seem to be less swollen than before.

We are all waiting for his arrival...... *excited sia!!!!!!
